Position: Day Care Aide
Supervisor: Day Care Manager
General Job Description: Day Care Aide will provide a safe, caring environment for the children.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Lead Teacher in all areas needed, including weekly lesson planning.
- Learn and follow all FOCUS guidelines for 4 Star Licensure.
- Obtain all required FOCUS trainings for 4 Star Licensure.
- Observe and Document in accordance with the New Mexico Early Learning Guidelines to create portfolios of children.
- Be able to perform all the duties, both physical and mental, associated with the normal care of children 2 years to 5 years old.
- Be able to perform all the duties, both physical and mental, associated with the normal operation of a day care center.
- Commit to a one-year performance as a successful day care aide in lieu of paying back training expenses to the district.
Qualifications: High School diploma or GED, 45 hour entry-level course, or Early Childhood Education Child Growth and Development Course, 6 hour Quality Early Childhood Program for All, and current First Aide & CPR certification. Must complete and pass background check through both Farmington Municipal Schools and CYFD Childcare.

Physical Requirements: Ability to perform the job and access the environment for which you are hired. The following may be required: Sitting, standing, lifting, moving about the room or school, carrying (up to 50 pounds), reaching, squatting, kneeling, and moving light furniture.
Work Environment: Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality. Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignment without direct supervision. After hour work may be required.
Terms of Employment: Salary and work calendar established yearly by the district.
Commit to a one-year performance as a successful day care aide in lieu of paying back training expenses to the district. |
