Position:  Spanish Bilingual data clerk

 

Supervisor:  Director of Multicultural Education

 

 

General Job Description:  To support the Office of Language and Culture and to fulfill the terms and conditions of the Title III and Bilingual programs assisting the Multicultural department in meeting its goals and objectives.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work cooperatively and maintain proper professional relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and administrators
  • Demonstrate ethical behavior appropriate to performing/accomplishing assigned duties
  • Follow district policies and administrative rules and regulations
  • Communicate accurately and effectively with supervisors, community, and parents
  • Appropriate professional appearance
  • Confidentiality is essential
  • Accept other responsibilities as deemed necessary by Director
  • Complete and forward phone, email, fax messages
  • Engage in staff development and training (district and program)
  • Assist with necessary student assessment administration as applicable

 

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support school personnel to conduct home visits, follow-up with parents/students regarding attendance, IEPs, truancy and suspension issues
  • Provide translation services
  • Support Instructional Facilitators with workshops and training
  • Transport students home when necessary
  • Obtain student information from parents
  • Timely and Accurate completion of monthly activity reports
  • Maintain student bilingual files at the school and district level
  • Support staff at school sites to foster parental engagement and involvement workshops  
  • Manage paperwork flow between parents, school and district office
  • Organize and disseminate testing data to data input clerk

 

Qualifications:   High school diploma or GED, possess a Level III New Mexico Educational Assistant license, knowledge of basic office procedures, knowledge and skill of computer function and operation and specifically data entry.   Will be required to transport students, therefore all district requirements and background checks must be met.

 

 

Physical Requirements: Ability to perform the job and access the environment for which you are hired.  The following may be required: Sitting, standing, lifting, moving about the room or school, carrying (up to 50 pounds), reaching, squatting, kneeling, prolonged typing, physical ability to type on a keyboard terminal, and moving light furniture.

 

Equipment/Technology Handled: Must know how to properly operate or be willing to learn to operate all multimedia equipment including current technology. 

 

Work Environment: Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality.  Interruptions of work are routine.  Flexibility and patience are required.  Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignment without direct supervision.  After hour work may be required.

 

Terms of Employment: Salary and work calendar established yearly by the district.  Terms are set by grant conditions.
