Position: Elementary Drama Coach
Supervisor: Elementary Principal – Fine Arts Coordinator
General Job Description: The Drama Coach will supervise play practice, performances, materials, sets, costsumes and other requirements related to the elementary drama program. They are to ensure student safety and eligibility for participating in the drama program
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain an accurate and updated list of materials and supplies. Submit requests for materials to the elementary principal/coordinator of fine arts.
- Maintain a roster of participating students including parent contact information and permission to participate in after-school program.
- Provide instruction and perforomance opportunities in drama that is appropriate for the age, culture, and development of 3rd-5th grade students.
- Select scripts and other learning materials that are appropriate for the age, culture, and development of 3rd-5th grade students.
- Organize, conduct, and supervise practices/rehearsals/performances throughout each semester of the program. Ensure all students have left campus safely after practices/rehearsals/performances. See that participants do not loiter around the building or in the halls immediately after practice.
- Supervise students during practice/rehearsal/performances inclusive of all areas that students access during such times.
- Promote effective communication among participating students, parents and guardians of participating students, and school and community staff members.
- Maintain adequate records of participants, preparations, events, and ideas for future drama events.
- Is dependable and fulfills duties as assigned.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establishes rehearsal and performance schedule and distributes to participating students, parents, school principal and coordinator of fine arts.
- Is responsible for reviewing, determining eligibility, organizing, and maintaining all student forms.
- Coordinates with the principal and other teachers to schedule all practices/rehearsals/performances to avoid conflicts with other school- based activities.
- Maintain a master schedule of program events
- Maintain files, list schedules, calendars and other data
- Follow district policies and administrative rules and regulations
- Engage in self-development
- Meet deadlines on reports/projects
Qualifications: Licensed teacher with Farmington Municipals Schools preferred. Otherwise, must submit to background check. Verifiable experience in drama performance or development.
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform the job and access the environment for which you are hired. The following may be required: Sitting, standing, lifting, moving about the room or school, carrying (up to 50 pounds), reaching, squatting, kneeling, prolonged typing, physical ability to type on a keyboard terminal, and moving light furniture.
Equipment/Technology Handled: Computer, calculator, copy machine, phone system and other office technology.
Work Environment: Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality. Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignment without direct supervision. After hour work may be required.
