Position: Instructional Facilitator: Blended Learning Specialist
Supervisor: Executive Director of Technology & Executive Director of CIAD
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent from four-year college or university or equivalent.
Valid New Mexico teaching certificate (minimum Level II)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the core values and strategic priorities of Farmington Municipal Schools
- Assist teachers in a collaborative model of observation, conversation, and lesson demonstration to analyze and reflect on their practice to promote quality instructional practices based upon the Farmington Model of Instruction
- Support the implementation of site and district curricular and instructional initiatives including, but not limited to pacing guides, proficiency scales/measurement topics, standards-based system, and intervention programs
- Communicate effectively and create positive relationships with teachers and administrators
- Plans, develops and encourages selection and purchase of age/interest appropriate learning materials aligned to core curriculum
- Participate fully in professional development for facilitators, including peer observations, professional research and reading, conferences and professional learning communities
- Conduct research and provide resources on a range of effective and innovative practices
- Assist teachers with the collection and analysis of data results
- Support the instructional needs of teachers and PLC teams through the implementation of Professional Development Plans around student achievement goals
- Work collaboratively and collegially with other Instructional Facilitators, Instructional Coaches, curriculum specialists and district personnel
- Participate in the development and delivery of New Teacher Trainings and provide follow-up support for New Teachers
- Collaborate with principals in the development of PDP Support and structure related coaching opportunities as directed by Central Office Administration
- Plan and coordinate the physical and virtual library space, including MakerSpaces, and create a welcoming, and positive and innovative atmosphere
- Collaborates with Elementary and Secondary Curriculum Directors
- Actively participates in district facilitator PLC
- Collaborate in the development of library and technology curriculum across the district
- Provide professional development and coaching support to staff in all curricular areas including: Maker Spaces/libraries, technology, and available district resources that support core instruction
- Support blended and flipped learning environments and how all media types can be leveraged in the educational space
- Partner with public library to enhance learning opportunities for students
- Perform other duties and responsibilities related to instruction in all content areas as assigned by supervisor

Reasoning, Problem Solving, and Analytical Thinking - Ability to define problems, identify key issues, collect data, compare diverse sets of data to establish possible cause and effect patterns, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in varying forms and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to problem solve, using prior knowledge and experience, within a variety of new situations.
Technology Skills - General knowledge of computer usage and ability to use modern productivity and communication programs. Strong research skills using a variety of online and digital resources. Familiarity with general multimedia and creative tools. Ability to learn new technology tools independently.
Interpersonal Skills - Works well with others from diverse backgrounds. Focuses on solving conflict; maintaining confidentiality; listening to others without interrupting; keeping emotions under control; remaining open to others’ ideas and contributing to building a positive team spirit. Demonstrated ability to successfully work with and teach students and staff. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally verbally and in written form.
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform the job and access the environment for which you are hired. The following may be required: Sitting, standing, lifting, moving about the room or school, carrying (up to 50 pounds), reaching, squatting, kneeling, prolonged typing, physical ability to type on a keyboard terminal, and moving light furniture.
Equipment/Technology Handled: Must know how to properly operate or be willing to learn to operate all multimedia equipment including current technology.
Work Environment: Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality. Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignment without direct supervision. After hour work may be required.
Terms of Employment: Salary and work calendar established yearly by the district.
