Position: Bus Fueler/Washer
Supervisor: Shop Supervisor
General Job Description: Knowledgeable of automotive engines, diesel engines, power equipment and related vehicle equipment, use of tools and equipment utilized in the transportation department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for fueling & washing all buses & district vehicles.
- Inspects and cleans outside of all buses and district vehicles as needed.
- Inspects and cleans inside of all buses and district vehicles as needed.
- Informs the Shop Supervisor about problems found on buses or district vehicles.
- Shall report to the Shop Supervisor misuse or suspected misuse of district property.
- Shall maintain an effective working relationship with district employees.
- Have a positive attitude and communicate with students, parents, teachers, co-workers and supervisors.
- Shall adhere to approved Board policy and administrative directives.
- Sweep, empty trash and help clean shop area as needed.
- Clean wash bay each Friday.
- Answer telephones and radios as needed and to know daily operation of the Transportation Department and fill in as needed.
- Maintain all fuel records
- Inventory and order fuel as needed.
- Accept other responsibilities and duties deemed necessary by supervisor
Qualifications:
- Have a working knowledge of basic vehicle operations.
- Possess a valid class B NM commercial license with a P and S endorsement and a clean driving record.
- Pass pre-employment drug test.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform the job and access the environment for which you are hired. The following may be required: Sitting, standing, lifting, moving about the room or school, carrying (up to 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds on occasion), reaching, squatting, and kneeling. Must pass a department of Transportation physical examination by a licensed physician.
Equipment/Technology Handled: Gasoline and Diesel Fuels, Lubricants, Washing Equipment and be willing to learn to operate all multimedia equipment including current technology.
Work Environment: Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality. Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignment without direct supervision. After hour work may be required.
Terms of Employment: Salary and work calendar established yearly by the district.
