Position: Assistant to Mass Media/FHS Live
Supervisor: Lead Coordinator FHS Live/Principal
General Job Description: The Assistant to MM/FHSL will supervise students at broadcasts and traveling to and from the broadcasts. They will secure equipment and fulfill other requirements related to the organization they are assisting. They are to ensure student safety for participating in the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibility and Authority
Supervisors are the Lead Coordinator, CTE Department Head, Athletic Director, and Principal.
Shared authority with the Lead Coordinator over all students and related activities.
- Job Responsibilities
- Supervise students during production time and event broadcasts including studio/classroom, event broadcast location, and any other on-site location.
- Ensure participants maintain acceptable standards of behavior and decorum.
- Assist in conducting and supervising production and broadcasts throughout the broadcast season. Complete other duties as assigned by the Lead Coordinator.
Qualifications: As determined by FMS Administration. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older. Knowledge of both audio and video broadcast equipment, software, studio recording, broadcast formatting a plus.
Physical Requirements: Sitting, standing, lifting and carrying (up to 50 pounds), reaching, squatting, kneeling, physical ability to type on a keyboard terminal, and moving equipment may be required.
Equipment/Technology Handled: Must know how to properly operate or be willing to learn to operate equipment related to the organization, computer and other equipment as needed.
Work Environment: Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality. Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignment without direct supervision. After hours work is required.
Terms of Employment: This is an hourly position and work hours are established yearly by the district.
