Position: Title 1 Parent liaison
Supervisor: Principal
General Job Description: The goal of a parent liaison will be, in a collaborative effort with the school, to engage and communicate with families in an effort to improve attendance at all parent and family engagement events to ensure all families feel welcome and a part of the educational process.
Duties and responsibilities:

Attend district professional development opportunities and parent advisory committees as requested by each school principal

Prepare for and attend family engagement events to support student learning and relationship building (to include evening events)

Maintain a communication log detailing all family outreach efforts and outcomes

Track attendance at parent engagement events

Conduct annual family engagement survey to assess needs of parents and staff

Be a collaborative partner in find strategies that improve attendance at family
engagement events as well as meet the needs of parents and families

Keep principals and teachers informed of any special needs or concerns of parents
Additional skills and responsibilities:

Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills in English (fluency in another language (Spanish or Dine) preferred, but not required)

Basic computer skills needed

Must have own transportation

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Ability to work positively with other parents and district personnel and champion for
district chosen parent engagement opportunities

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications: High School diploma or GED and any other qualifications as the Board deems appropriate
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform the job and access the environment for which you are hired. The following may be required: Sitting, standing, lifting, moving about the room or school, carrying (up to 50 pounds), reaching, squatting, kneeling, prolonged typing, physical ability to type on a keyboard terminal, and moving light furniture.
Equipment/Technology Handled: Computer and copy machine skills.
Work Environment: Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality. Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignment without direct supervision. After hour work may be required.
Terms of Employment: Parent liaisons will be paid $10/hour (not to exceed 10 hours/week) – work calendar will be determined by school principal based on need and available funding.
